UploadReady is an Android app published by Mody Associates and presented by Fun Fat Studios. It prepares photos and PDFs so they fit the size and size-in-KB limits that websites, forms and portals ask for. This notice describes exactly what the app does with your files and what it does not do.
Summary
UploadReady prepares files on your device. It has no user accounts, does not upload your files anywhere, and does not use cloud document processing or AI services. The only time the app contacts a server is when it talks to Google Play for the optional one-time Pro purchase.
What the app does with your files
- Photos and PDFs you choose are read through Android's own system pickers (Photo Picker, Storage Access Framework) or an incoming share from another app.
- All preparation — resizing, compressing, PDF page operations, PDF image re-encoding, requirement checks and previews — happens locally on your device.
- Prepared files are written to the app's private storage first, and then to a destination you choose yourself when you press Save a copy. The original file is never modified.
- Temporary working files are deleted according to your cleanup setting (1, 7 or 30 days), and you can clear them at any time in Settings → Temporary files.
- Exports have GPS location metadata removed by default. This can be changed per job, and the result tells you whether the original contained location data.
What the app does not collect
- No file names, file paths, file contents, images, document text, OCR results or previews are transmitted anywhere.
- No user-entered preset names are transmitted.
- No passwords are stored or logged. A password you type for a protected PDF is held in memory only while that job runs.
- No advertising identifiers, no location data, no contacts and no device identifiers are collected by the app's own code.
Network use
- Google Play Billing is contacted only for the optional one-time Pro purchase: to load the localised price, to complete a purchase, to acknowledge it, and to check your purchases (including when you press Restore a purchase). That traffic goes to Google Play and is governed by Google's privacy policy.
- The app declares the
INTERNETandACCESS_NETWORK_STATEpermissions because the Play Billing and WorkManager libraries declare them. No code in UploadReady sends your files, file names, paths or their contents anywhere — all preparation happens locally, and there is no cloud processing. WAKE_LOCKandRECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETEDcome from WorkManager and exist so a queued batch job can finish reliably. The unusedFOREGROUND_SERVICEpermission is explicitly removed in the app manifest.
Notifications
- The app asks for the
POST_NOTIFICATIONSpermission the first time you start a batch job (a Pro feature), and only then. Nothing else in the app asks for it. - A notification is posted only when a batch finishes while the app is in the background. If you are still looking at the app, the result appears on screen and no notification is posted.
- The notification text contains counts only — how many files were prepared and how many met the requirements. It never contains file names, paths, thumbnails or contents.
- Declining the permission changes nothing about processing: batches still run and the result is still listed under Recent jobs. The permission is not used for advertising or reminders.
Diagnostics and crash reports
This version of UploadReady contains no analytics SDK and no crash-reporting SDK. Nothing is transmitted, whether or not the diagnostics setting is enabled. The setting exists so that, if a reporting SDK is added in a later version, your choice is explicit and visible; see “Changes to this notice”.

Children's privacy
UploadReady is a general-purpose utility, is not directed at children, and collects no personal data.
Your choices
- Do not grant anything: the pickers grant access to the individual files you choose, and only for as long as the app needs them. UploadReady does not request broad storage access.
- Delete everything: Settings → Clear history and Clear temporary files.
- Turn off location stripping: in Settings or per job, if you want the metadata preserved.
Purchases and refunds
Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play. UploadReady never sees your payment details. If a purchase is refunded or revoked, Pro turns off the next time Google Play is reachable. Once Google Play has confirmed a purchase on your device, Pro remains unlocked while you are offline.
Security
Files stay in the app's private storage. Sharing uses Android's FileProvider, which exposes only the specific prepared file, with a temporary read permission granted to the app you choose. Temporary files are excluded from Android's automatic backup rules.
Changes to this notice
If a future version adds crash reporting or analytics, they will be off by default or clearly opt-in, this notice will be updated first, and the in-app setting will describe exactly what is sent. The app version that changes data collection will state the change in its Play listing.
