What the app includes.

From the published notice

A curated food list

Ratings come from a fixed set of written rules applied to that list. The app shows the source behind each answer, and it distinguishes guidance taken directly from a source from the app's own application of it. Sources are listed in Settings → Content and sources.

Saved foods, search and notes

You can keep a favourites list, a search history, and notes you write when you flag an entry. Those stay in the app on this device.

Lessons and quizzes

The app stores lesson progress, quiz answers, points, badges and weekly goals on the device, for the progress screen.

A scan screen

The camera is only for taking photos in the Scan screen. You can deny that permission and choose a photo or type a dish instead. Menu text recognition runs on the device with bundled recognition software. This release does not automatically identify food from meal photos.

Reminders and settings

Settings remember theme, reduced motion and reminders. An optional daily learning reminder asks for notification permission only when you turn reminders on, and turning them off cancels the schedule.

Search a food. Read a menu. Learn why.

Privacy

No account and no upload

The privacy notice says the app has no account, no server and no analytics. It asks for no internet permission and does not upload your photos, searches, notes or progress.

A copy you control

Settings → Export progress writes one JSON file to a place you choose. It contains saved foods, lesson progress, points and goals — not photos, and not the food guide itself. Importing that file adds what is missing and does not overwrite existing progress.

Erasing local data

Settings → Erase local data deletes saved foods, search history, lesson progress, quiz answers, points, badges, weekly goals and notes from the app on this device. Uninstalling removes the app's private local data. Neither deletes copies you already exported, originals in your photo library, or existing Android backups.

Not a substitute for your clinician.

The content is author-written and owner-approved as a set. Owner approval is not clinical sign-off or endorsement by a medical organisation. The app is not a substitute for advice from your own clinician. It is not directed at children, and the privacy notice says it collects no personal information.
